Today’s Grassroots Scores: North Wales Football Round-Up

Adult amateur football across North Wales was in full swing today. Here’s how the results landed across the region’s senior leagues.

Novira Cymru North

Brickfield Rangers put in a strong away performance, beating Gresford Athletic 5-0. A one-sided scoreline that suggests Brickfield mean business early in the season.

Lock Stock Ardal North West

Nefyn United and Kinmel Bay played out a goalless draw. Neither side found a breakthrough in a tightly contested match.

FAW National Reserve League North

Reserve-team football produced a mixed bag of results across the region:

  • Buckley Town U23s 0-1 Holywell Town Development
  • Colwyn Bay U21s 1-1 Connah’s Quay Nomads U18s
  • Holyhead Hotspur Reserves 0-3 Ruthin Town Reserves
  • Mold Alexandra Development 4-0 Bala Town U21s
  • Mynydd Isa Reserves 1-1 Denbigh Town Reserves
  • Penmaenmawr Phoenix U21s 1-1 Llanrwst United Reserves

Ruthin Town Reserves and Mold Alexandra Development were the standout performers, each recording comfortable wins on the road and at home respectively.

What Today’s Results Tell Us

Across every division, one theme stood out: home advantage counted for very little today. Several away sides picked up comfortable wins, and the goals-per-game rate across the development leagues was high — a sign that pre-season sharpness is already showing through this early in the campaign.

For fans following any of these clubs, today’s results are a reminder of just how much competitive adult football happens across North Wales every single weekend, often well away from national attention.
