New Year, Same Way of Supporting Non-League!

We’re well into January now and we’ve already had the first week of fixtures back following the Christmas and New Year break. But, there’s never a poor time to remind you of the ways you can support non-league and grassroots football. In pretty much every town and village across the UK there is a local football club to you and with that brings a whole host of benefits. It brings the community together, it gives you the chance to play, or allows you to support family and friends that do as well as much more. In this blog we will challenge you to do at least one of the listed things in 2024 to help grow Non-League and grassroots sports.

Find a Game & Go To it

The best thing you can do, in our opinion, is go to a game near you. There are thousands of matches on a weekly basis ranging from professional, to semi-pro, to amateur. What they all have in common, is the potential draw up a ‘moment’ or a special little something that will put a smile on your face. You are guaranteed to see a wonder-strike, meaty tackle, or silky skill in Non-League, Sunday League and grassroots football which is why we know you’ll see the entertainment factor. What’s more is that ticket prices are a fraction of the price in Non-League and Sunday League.

Engage With Social Media Content

If you can’t go to many games but would like to support a Non League or Sunday League team, then see their social media channels. Often filled with clips from the games, upcoming fixtures and ways you can help them, you’ll find more than one way to support them online. A simple ‘like’ on a post or a follow on the account can go a long way. There are lots of teams now aiming to build a presence on their channels because that in itself provides opportunity which could transform the club for the better. It might be a viral video or a new online sponsor they secure, you’d be doing your bit engaging with the social media account and for that, we salute you.

Shop With Club Sponsors

You will find that clubs are often associated with various businesses and organisations in a sponsorship kind of way. Shirt sponsors, signage around the ground, on leaflets and online – everywhere you can think of. These partnerships can be enhanced when the businesses gets custom back from them. If you actively look for these businesses and shop with them, you will be benefiting the team, particularly if you tell the business that you found them through ‘XXX Football Club’. It is then likely that the sponsorship will continue and the club has more financial backing to improve with.

This is just three ways you can support your local club this year but there are more ways too.
