Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club Leiston have signed big defender Josh Okpolokpo.
The 19-year-old was released by Championship side Huddersfield Town in the summer, having represented the club’s under-17 and under-19 sides.
The 6`4” Okpolokpo, who can play at centre-back or right-back, joined the Terriers` academy from Ipswich Town in the summer of 2019, having started his career in the Republic of Ireland with Cherry Orchard.
He was named in a 35-man training camp for Eire’s under-19s, having signed a one-year professional contract with Town in July 2021.
In August 2021, he spent a month on loan with Northern Premier League Division One East side Pontefract Collieries, making 5 appearances.
