There were two matches in the Pitching In Southern Football League on Wednesday night – one in Division One Central and one in Division One South.
In the central section, Biggleswade FC moved up to fourth in the early table after inflicting a fourth defeat in six matches on Cirencester Town, who have still yet to record a win since being switched across from the south division in the summer.
Biggleswade started well at The Eyrie and took a 15th-minute lead when Jack Dreyer headed home an Adam Hunt cross.
But the Centurians responded well and equalised in the 34th minute when Nick Peare headed firmly past home `keeper Tyler Josephs.
So, all-square at the break, but only 7 minutes into the second period, the hosts re-took the lead when Lawrie Marsh beat Cirencester `keeper Alex Harris from a narrow angle.
And it was virtually game over 20 minutes from time when the Greens made it 3-1 with a near finish from Alex Marsh.
In Division One South, Lymington Town are also still searching for a first win – indeed a first point – after losing 3-0 at the Stan Robinson Stadium against Willand Rovers, who moved up to eighth in the fledgling table.
It took the hosts half an hour to make the breakthrough when, after the Linnets had cleared two efforts off the line, Lewis Hill fired home from the edge of the area.
Rovers eventually doubled their advantage in the 75th minute when a powerful effort from Dean Stamp was parried out but only as far as Hill, who scored his second of the evening.
And then in the 89th minute, Josh Baker made it 3-0, although there was still time for Lymington to go down to ten-men when new signing Lewis Waterfield received a second yellow card 4 minutes into stoppage time.
