Jamie Heapy’s Railwaymen moved into the top five in the table after securing a 1-0 success at The Meadow against managerless Aylesbury United.

The Ducks had lost seven games on the trot heading into this game, but they showed plenty of fighting spirit and it looked as though they were going to end that poor run with at least a point.

That was until the 2nd minute of stoppage time at the end of the game when Josh Hedges popped up to win it for Didcot.

At the ASM Stadium, AFC Dunstable, whose only loss in the league was to Didcot on October 11th, secured a fifth win in their eight games against hosts Thame United, who in contrast, have failed to secure a league win since the end of August.

After a goalless first half, it was the hosts who broke the deadlock after 54 minutes when Greg Hackett got on the end of a long ball forward to net.

But the OD’s equalised in the 68th minute through Ryan Frater.

Two minutes later, the referee received an injury and had to hobble off and was replaced by the senior linesman, and Thame’s chairman, Jake Collinge, took the flag!

And what proved to be the winner for the visitors came in the 79th minute from Gedeon Okito to lift the OD’s up to seventh in the table.
