The teams knew they had the reward of a home tie in the First Round against League One Lincoln City to look forward to and the Bluebirds were out of the traps swiftly.

But on 18 minutes, Gordon came close to putting the Greens in front, forcing a good save from Will Henry, and then on 32 minutes, Will Richards was forced to clear an effort off the Chippenham line.

However, 5 minutes before half-time, it was the home side who broke the deadlock when Joe Parker’s deflected effort beat Marcin Brzozowksi and nestled in the back of the net.

One of the perimeter walls collapsed and caused a delay but it was Chippenham who eventually went into the break in front.

Lee Allinson’s side tried hard to find a leveller in the second half but were unable to penetrate a solid defence and it’s Chippenham who will welcome Lincoln.
