One in, one out – Horsham Football Club

We are delighted to announce the signing of 26 year old attacking midfielder Oliver Knight from Metropolitan Police. Ollie started out in the Forest Green Rovers Academy but joined Cirencester Town in January 2014 and went on to score 7 goals in 85 appearances over the course of the next two and a half years. He then spent two seasons at Frome Town, also of the Southern League, before being snapped up by Met Police ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

Among his near 80 appearances for The Blues, many of them alongside current Hornets marksman Jack Mazzone, Ollie appeared in two promotion play-off semi-finals and played against the Hornets in our FA Cup tie in 2019/20, scoring in a 1-1 draw at Imber Court.

“Ollie is a good player with play-off experience at Step 3 and someone who impressed me whenever I saw him play at Met Police” said boss Dom Di Paola. “Bringing him in increases the competition in wide areas.” Ollie is expected to be added to today’s squad to face Aveley in the 3rd qualifying round of the FA Trophy.

But while welcoming Ollie to the CWCS, we say goodbye to Charlie Bell who has left the club after just one appearance. The former Portsmouth midfielder, who joined us from Bognor Regis Town a fortnight ago, has cited difficulties in travelling up from his Portsmouth home as the reason for his departure and has now joined Moneyfields FC. We wish him well for the future.
