Pitching In Southern League Division One South club Hamworthy United, currently with Sean Leadbetter and Dan Cann in interim charge following the departure of manager Tim Sills to league rivals Wimborne Town, have brought in a new goalkeeper.
Lewis Gunstone-Gray joins the Hammers from Southern Premier Division South side Salisbury and made his debut in Tuesday night’s 6-2 hammering of Tavistock AFC.
The 24-year-old had joined the Whites in July after impressing during pre-season.
He has played for Wimborne in the Southern League as well as for Downton and Shaftesbury in the Wessex League. However, it is with another Wessex Premier side, Christchurch, where he became something of a hero.
In 2020/21, his shot-stopping ability helped them win a penalty shoot-out 6-5 against Vanarama National League North side Gloucester City to cause a major upset in an Emirates FA Cup Second Qualifying Round tie.
