After the postponement of Saturday’s game against Folkestone Invicta following the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II, Carshalton Athletic return to Isthmian Premier League action with a visit to Bognor Regis Town on Tuesday 13th September (7.45pm kick off).
After a fast start, including a 6-1 win at current second placed Aveley, the Rocks have, like Carshalton, lost their last two league games. Most recently, they went down 4-0 to Horsham on Bank Holiday Monday after having a man sent off in the second half. They currently sit one point above the Robins with seven points from their opening five games.
They recovered from the Horsham reversal, however, by knocking Cray Wanderers out of the FA Cup after an emphatic 4-0 replay win on Wednesday night. Among the scorers for the Rocks in that game was Nathan Adoyonkero, taking his early season team leading total to six.
The Robins too bounced back from their consecutive league defeats with a convincing 5-1 win over VCD Athletic in their most recent game in the FA Cup on 3rd September. Tom Beere struck another great free kick to open the scoring and retain his position as leading scorer, with three goals.
Both last season’s meetings were tight affairs, but with Bognor coming out on top in both by 1-0.
