Following Scotland’s historic qualification to the European championships, their first major tournament in 22 years, the international break has had some ups and downs over the last week. This also means we will have a “Battle of Britain” game when the two nations meet in the group stage. This is a competitive fixture between England and Scotland. This game will be sure to fill pubs and gardens, and has potential to be the most watched game of the tournament in the U.K.
England made light work of Wales, winning 3-0 and looking exciting in attack. They followed this up with a 2-0 away defeat to Belgium, the side who beat us twice in the 2018 World Cup. There are positives to be taken from the games, after a decent attacking performance.

For Belgium on the other hand, this may be their last attempt with their golden generation. The golden generation of Belgium will always be in with an outside chance, but they have not won anything as of yet. The Red Devils will be a fun team to watch in the tournament.
For the other home nations, Wales have qualified for the European championships, and will have a chance of qualifying from their group with Italy, Turkey and Switzerland. Northern Ireland fell at the final hurdle, losing in the final qualifying game to Slovakia.
That means that 3 home nations will compete next year, which could make for an interesting tournament as a whole.
The group of death consists of Portugal, France, Germany and Hungary. This group is really hard to predict, as reigning champions Portugal, reigning World Cup champions France and a newly rejuvenated German side all have a chance of winning the tournament.
