North Leigh achieved a second win at Step 3 level when they beat fellow newcomers Hanwell Town in the Pitching in Southern League Premier Division South on Tuesday night.
The Millers broke the deadlock at Eynsham Park after 37 minutes when Aaron McCreadie got the ball just before a Geordie defender to slot home.
And then right on the stroke of half-time, the hosts scored a crucial second when Levi Steele poked home from close range.
North Leigh’s goalkeeper Adam North was called upon to make a couple of decent saves in the second half, but the Millers held firm and almost added a third late on when substitute Jordan Alves rattled the crossbar.
The evening’s other game saw two of the pre-season promotion favourites, Hayes & Yeading United and Gosport Borough, meet at the SKYex Community Stadium.
United haven’t made the start to the campaign they had hoped for, whilst Boro have been inconsistent too.
But it was the visitors who took an early 3rd-minute lead when Harvey Rew nipped in to beat home `keeper Ryan Hall.
The lead was doubled just 2 minutes later when Dan Wooden headed past the static defence.
United responded in the 10th minute when Charlie Wassmer scored following a corner.
Alfie Williams came close to levelling on 33 minutes, but his effort came back off a post, but 7 minutes later, Paul Hughes` side were back on terms when Wassmer headed in from another corner.
The home side took the lead for the first time after 63 minutes when a great strike from Williams was parried by Boro ‘keeper Nick Harvey only for Moses Emmanuel to pounce on the loose ball.
Hayes & Yeading held firm to record three points which lifts them to tenth in the table, level on points with eighth-placed Gosport.
