Just a handful of games in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central and South on Saturday due to the Isuzu FA Trophy.
In the Central section, Biggleswade Town got off the mark with their first win in 2022/23 at the Yvette Brewer Stadium against Highworth Town.
Rob Parker gave the Waders a 22nd-minute lead that Harry Draper eventually doubled 7 minutes after half-time.
Felipe Barcelos reduced the deficit on the hour-mark, only for Charlie Smith to go virtually straight up the other end and make it 3-1.
Draper’s headed second 4 minutes from time made the points safe for Robbie O’Keefe’s side.
The other game saw Waltham Abbey and Welwyn Garden City share a 1-1 draw at Capershotts.
Joe Dearman broke the deadlock to give the visitors a 52nd-minute lead, but recent recruit Nathan Tshola grabbed a point for the Abbots 8 minutes from the end.
Three games in Division One South saw Sholing make it five wins from five league games in comfortable fashion – 4-0 at Wimborne Town.
A crowd of 466 saw Robbie Flooks give the Boatmen an early 4th-minute lead that Jake Cope doubled after 28 minutes.
Stuart Green on 52 minutes and Dan Mason in the 67th minute rounded off a good afternoon’s work for the visitors.
Slimbridge recorded a second win in their sixth game, 2-0 at Willand Rovers.
Brad Bevan’s 9th-minute opener gave the Swans a boost and Ethan Dunbar added a second a minute before half-time.
The game between Exmouth Town and Westbury United finished 0-0.
