The Wednesday evening replay in the Emirates FA Cup Second Qualifying Round produced an upset.
Pitching In Southern League Division One South club Paulton Rovers produced a fine performance to knock out Premier Division South side Gosport Borough at the First4Pools Stadium.
Both teams were totally committed from the outset and in the 22nd minute, great work by Will Harvey sent Kyle Tooze away whose fierce cross-shot from the right was turned in by David O’Hare to give Rovers the lead.
Then after 75 minutes Tooze chased down a lost cause to reach the ball ahead of a Gosport defender, muscled his way along the by-line and squared the ball to Dan Dempsey who crashed the ball home to make it 2-0.
In the 83rd minute, Boro replied with a scrambled effort from Dan Wooden.
Paulton then withstood terrific pressure, including a nerve-shredding free-kick in the dying seconds, to record a famous win.
