NEWS: Football Finest – The biggest football stories right now. 02/04/21

As the top league’s return from the international break, we’re in line for some huge games of football. The Premier League top-four race continues, and there are top of the table clashes in both the Bundesliga and Ligue 1. With PSG/Lille not on UK T.V however, it’s a tough choice between two belters on at the same time instead.

The Must-Watch Games From This Week:

Leicester v Manchester City – Saturday, April 17:30 PM – Sky Sports Main Event

Whilst first versus third normally can have some effect on who lifts the Premier League title, this year that won’t be the case. Instead, this battle is personal.

For Guardiola’s Manchester City, this game marks a chance at revenge. This season, City have looked more than dominant however, their biggest stumble was against Leicester in the home tie back in September.

Losing five-two, City were played off the pitch by Leicester. Now, however, with the Premier League title within touching distance, this marks a chance to clear out the skeleton in the closet.

RB Leipzig v Bayern München – Saturday, April 17:30 PM – BT Sport 1

In life many things stand tall, only to eventually come crumbling down; The reign of Julius Caesar, The Berlin Wall and now maybe Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga has long since been a one-horse race, but now with eight games left Bayern could be knocked off their perch.

RB Leipzig are not only the opposition this weekend but, also the contenders for Bayern’s throne this season. Just four points off Bayern and playing some exceptional football, this race could go straight to the wire.

Bayern of course will be without star striker Robert Lewandowski, and as a result, may produce some unconventional tactics. Leipzig however have a near full-strength squad.

Leipzig will also enter the game unbeaten in the league since January, and with the best defensive record in the league. Bayern meanwhile, are the league’s top scorers.

The stakes are high, and the quality of the teams even higher.
