Lee Spalding, manager of Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South club Swindon Supermarine, has signed goalkeeper Josh Gould after receiving international clearance from the FA of Wales.

Gould first joined Championship side Swansea City in 2018 following a successful trial and made an immediate impact on his debut for the under-23s, saving a penalty in their Premier League 2 clash with Derby County at Landore.

The Taunton-born stopper, who also had a brief loan spell with `Marine’s neighbours Merthyr Town, played 16 times for the under-23s during the 2019/20 season and was part of the senior matchday squad on 5 occasions at the back end of the campaign.

He was then given the opportunity to expand on his first-team experience by linking up with Barry Town United on loan for the 2020/21 season but was recalled from his spell with the JD Cymru Premier side in January.

In August 2021, the 25-year-old was sent out on loan again, this time to Vanarama National League South side Ebbsfleet United

He made his debut in the opening-day win against Tonbridge Angels and also played in the Emirates FA Cup game at Leyton Orient, totalling 8 games in all for the Fleet before returning to Swansea in January 2022.

His contract at the Welsh outfit ran out in June.
