Carshalton Athletic play their first Isthmian League Premier Division game in over two weeks when they host Aveley at Colston Avenue on Monday 10th October (7.45pm kick off).
It will be the second game in a row where the Robins have played a team with the nickname, The Millers, following Saturday’s penalty shoot out victory over Cray Valley PM in the FA Trophy, in which Crystal Palace loanee, Matthew Vigor notched a debut goal.
Aveley went out of the same competition at the weekend at Horsham, losing 4-3 despite a hatrick from George Sykes that took his total in all competitions for the season to nine.
His goalscoring has been a key component in Aveley’s excellent start to the league season, following their promotion as last season’s champions of the Isthmian League North. They currently sit in third place in the table with 19 points from nine games.
Carshalton, on the other hand, have ground to make up from their games in hand after a slow start that sees them down in 18th place with seven points from seven games.
