Carshalton Athletic are south coast bound again as they travel to face last season’s Isthmian League South East champions, Hastings United, on Saturday 24th September (3pm kick off).
Hastings took that title by 13 points and have made a solid start back in the Premier Division. On Wednesday evening, they moved up to eighth place with a 1-0 win at Cray Wanderers.
Nonetheless, the Us have found goals hard to come by so far this season, with 17-year-old loanee from Gillingham, Joe Gbode, accounting for three of the seven they’ve scored in eight games, including an FA Cup exit to Cray Valley PM.
That hasn’t stopped them from being among the best supported sides in the division, with home attendances at the two weekend games played at Pilot Field so far both topping the 1,000 mark.
Carshalton currently sit down in 16th place in the league after two wins and a draw from their first six games. After sacrificing a late two goal lead at Bognor in the last league outing, the Robins will look to bring cup results to the league, having progressed last Saturday to the 3rd qualifying round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win over Westfield. They learned on Tuesday they will face Havant and Waterlooville of the National League South on Saturday 1st October at Colston Avenue.
