Pitching In Southern League Division One Central club Aylesbury United have added two players to their squad, including the return of a familiar face.
Goalkeeper Jack Hopwood has re-signed for the Ducks from Isthmian League South Central Division side Thatcham Town.
The 26-year-old had joined the Kingfishers in November 2021 from Southern Premier Division South side Hayes & Yeading United.
He had moved to United in October 2021 from Aylesbury.
He had originally signed for the Ducks from near-neighbours Tring Athletic in February 2018.
Well known to his manager after graduating through the Bucks Sports Academy, he played for Chesham United before going on to make nearly 150 appearances for Tring.
He made 62 appearances for Aylesbury in his first spell.
Meanwhile, also joining the Ducks is 18-year-old midfielder George Joyce.
He has a family connection to the club in that his uncle Tony was Aylesbury’s manager from October 2009 until October 2015.
Joyce junior came through Vanarama National League side Boreham Wood’s academy and also had some Southern League experience whilst on loan to Kempston Rovers when his uncle was in charge at Hillgrounds during 2020/21.
