Injury Updates – Basingstoke Town Football Club

[ad_1]

Tonights fixture versus Chertsey will see some notable absentees – we offer a quick overview of injury updates and expected timelines.

Marcio Neves is out through injury after receiving a nasty tackle during our home win versus Ashford Town. He worked with the physios on Tuesday evening but will be unavailable for tonight’s game as we wait for the swelling to lower. A calculation of availability will be clearer once the swelling reduces.

Midfielder Luis Le Paih picked up a knee injury during training that ruled him out of our last home fixture and sadly he’s not recovered in time for tonight. We’re hopeful that with a slightly longer break – he will be in contention for the following week once our physios have cleared him to play.

Central midfield duo Michael Atkinson and D’andre Brown are making good progress and have both now began active rehab. D’andre had a scan and it’s not as bad as first feared and both have a timeline that are pretty much aligned. The pair are expected to be back during in training in October where they will continue their push for match inclusion.

Striker Stefan Brown has began running and continues his hard work in the gym. Shaun Dallimore completed his first pain free run since his initial injury. He’ll continue to work with Gideon and Ellis. The returning Ashleigh Artwell is also nearing a return having an introductory rehab session on Tuesday evening where there were great signs of progress. We’re hopeful that he can start pushing for a place during October. Lewis Hayden’s work is continuing in the gym at present, but significant progress has been made – Lewis isn’t expected back until the early stages of 2023.

Nathan Smart is suspended for tonight’s fixture.
