Horsham U18s v Jersey Bulls: FA Youth Cup preview

[ad_1]

After overcoming Burgess Hill Town on their FA Youth Cup debut, and in the process becoming the first offshore club to compete in the competition, Jersey Bulls’ U18s will visit the Camping World Community Stadium this Friday to face our own U18s for a place in the 2nd Qualifying Round.

Founded on 7th August 2018, and based at their St Helier Springfield Stadium, the club, whose first team finished 4th last season in the Southern Division of the Combined Counties Premier League, have a relatively short history but will be keen to build on the strong performances, stymied by the global pandemic, and push onwards up the football pyramid.

While the young Hornets were making light work of Broadbridge Heath in the extra preliminary round, Jersey enjoyed a bye and were then drawn to face Burgess Hill Town in the preliminary round. A dramatic 94th minute winner from S Henia-Kamau, in a 1-2 victory, ensured the Bulls didn’t have to endure the lottery of a penalty shoot-out. In the same round, Rob Semark’s young side safely navigated a spirited second half comeback from Colliers Wood United to set up an exciting tie with the channel islanders.

So, if the idea of Friday night football appeals why not come along to Hop Oast and support the lads on their cup journey. As this is an FA competition it will be all pay with season tickets, and player passes, not valid but entry prices are still a very reasonable £4 adults and £2 concessions.

Kick-off is at 7.30pm and, as ever, if you can’t make the match be sure to follow our @HorshamFCU18s twitter with live match updates from about 7.15pm.

Our bar and kitchen will be open for the purchase of hot and cold food and drinks.
