AC Milan and Italy keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is set to sign a five-year contract with PSG. The keeper who first joined AC Milan in 2013 when he was fourteen years old, will move on after nearly a decade at the club.
Despite AC Milan topping the Serie A table at points this year, they ultimately fell away. Even with this, Donnarumma managed to top the clean sheet charts. Donnarumma has also successfully kept up this form with Italy at Euro 2020, where he has yet to concede a goal.
The fate of Gianluigi Donnarumma at AC Milan was largely sealed when he continued to reject contract offers from the club, and despite the side finishing second, which was their best league performance in almost a decade he continued to reject any offers made by the club. As a result, Milan switched their focus onto replacing him, and will now bring in Lille’s Ligue 1 winning keeper from this season Mike Maignan. The French keeper will join from Lille for a fee of around £22.5M.
