Romford continue their success in FA competitions as they best Newmarket in 7 goal thriller. Forward Jake Gordon put the Essex Senior League in front 24 minutes into the game, but Newmarket Town would level the scoreline just before half time, Joe Asensi grabbing an important goal at an important moment for his team. After the break a quick fire double would put Romford 3-1 up, Jake Gordon grabbing his brace, and an own goal extending the lead. The scoring was far from over, Newmarket’s Lewis Whitehead tucked the ball into the corner of the goal in the 81st minute, before Jacob Mingay levelled the game in dramatic fashion, seemingly meaning the game would be decided by a penalty shootout. However, George Allen would be Romford’s hero, in the 93rd minute of the match scoring to fire his team into the next round of the competition.

Redbridge out after tough away fixture. The task for the Essex Senior League was made difficult after a swift double by the home side, Markel Cousins firing home to put his side ahead in the 25th minute, and only 3 minutes later Taylor Rhiney doubled their lead. After a much improved second half where Redbridge threatened the Biggleswade United goal but their goalkeeper was not to be beaten.

BUCKHURST HILL WIN 5-3 ON PENALTIES
Buckhurst Hill win penalty shootout to progress to 2nd round of the FA Vase. Goalscorer Hassan Nalbant was on hand for his side 23 minutes into the game, this was after Buckhurst Hill missed a penalty. Nathan Sollosi extended the lead to 2 in the 36th minute. After the interval there was a comeback by the away side, Grant Cumming slotted the ball past the goal keeper to get his side back into the game, a late equaliser was scored by Marcus Bowers to send the game into penalties. Buckhurst Hill were able to hold their nerve and win the penalty shootout 5-3.

Stansted come from behind to secure a spot in the next round of the Vase. Downham got off to a good start, Joe Jackson fired his team in front 10 minutes into the game, Jack Mitchell levelled the proceedings 9 minutes later, but Downham got back in front 10 minutes later, Joe Jackson grabbing his second of the game. Stansted completely turned the game on its head through John Clarke who scored 2 goals in 3 minutes to secure his teams victory.

GODMANCHESTER ROVERS 1-2 LITTLE OAKLEY
Huge victory for Little Oakley in the FA Vase against a strong Godmanchester team. Greg Rodger was the man to break the deadlock, the Essex Senior League side held firm defensively to go into the interval a goal up. After the break they would add to their lead, Harry Mann the goalscorer. The Little Oakley defence would be beaten eventually in the 94th minute, Matty Allen slotted the ball past the goalkeeper, however Little Oakley were able to hold on, and they are through to the next round.
