Andy Peaks, manager of high-flying Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club Tamworth, has added experienced goalkeeper Matt Sargeant to his squad.
The 33-year-old had re-joined the Lambs` league rivals Alvechurch from another, Nuneaton Borough, in September 2019, and also spent part of the 2021/22 season on dual registration with Vanarama National League North side Leamington.
Born in Walsall, he began his career at local club Chasetown, and was part of the Scholars side that defeated Port Vale in an FA Cup Second Round replay in 2008.
That famous victory propelled the Chase into the Third Round, the lowest-ranked side ever to reach that stage.
He was on the bench as eventual runners-up Cardiff City won 3-1 at the Scholars Ground.
No stranger to FA Cup runs, he made the First Round Proper with Tipton Town in 2010 when they travelled to face Carlisle United at Brunton Park as the Cumbrian side enjoyed one of their better seasons.
He has also had spells with Rushall Olympic, Halesowen Town, Worcester City and Romulus.
