Manchester City star Sergio Aguero will miss out due to a muscular issue that sidelined him for the Premier League defeat to Leeds.
It is expected Aymeric Laporte will also be fit again following a minor knock. Meaning City will have a virtually full squad.
For Dortmund, the injury list looks more serious.
Former Manchester City man Jadon Sancho has been ruled out of the tie.
The winger is back in training following six weeks out with a thigh injury, but the clash with his former side will come to soon for him to feature.
Additionally, Dortmund expect to be without German duo Marco Reus and Mats Hummels, whose involvements are both doubtful.

Form
Despite a 2-1 defeat to Leeds, Manchester City still sit atop the Premier League table, with 74 points from 32 games.
They currently hold an 11 point gap to rivals Manchester United in second, as they look to regain the Premier League crown a year after losing it to Liverpool.
Dortmund currently sit fifth in the Bundesliga, currently out of the Champions League spaces, seven points behind Eintracht Frankfurt.
Form has been a concern of late for the 2012/13 Champions League finalists, winning only two of their previous five in the league.
The battle for Haaland?
One of the biggest plotlines coming into the game is Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
The Norweigan striker joined Dortmund in January 2020 from RB Salzburg and hasn’t looked back, becoming one of the most sought after players in Europe.
His future at the club remains in doubt.
Dortmund are adamant that they won’t sell the striker until the summer of 2022 but it is rumoured to Haaland is looking for a way out, with Manchester City touted as a possible location.
With a strong showing in the Champions League, could City convince Haaland that his future lies in Manchester? Or can Dortmund put on a performance that convinces their star-man to stick around?
