Club Bolívar, who are the largest club in Bolivar, has joined the City Group as its first Partner Group.
Bolivar was founded in 1925 and are based in La Paz.
Bolívar has achieved great success in their league, including 29 domestic top-flight titles, more titles than any other club in the country.
Additionally, they are the second South American club to join City’s group portfolio after they acquired Montevideo City Torque in 2017.
Chief Executive Officer of City Football Group, Ferran Soriano stated on the City website:
“As well as supporting Club Bolívar’s ambitions, we have an opportunity to learn. Our work in Bolívar will certainly strengthen our knowledge of, and network in, South American football.”
“…We are excited by Marcelo’s vision for the Club and we are looking forward to working together and striving to help Club Bolívar achieve very ambitious goals in the coming future.”
City Football Group
City Football Group was established in May 2013, with the group owning or partnering with several clubs in major cities around the world.

Until 2015, City Group was wholly owned by Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG).
The private equity company belongs to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
However, ADUG now owns 77% of the company, with The China Media Capital Consortium owning 13% and Silver Lake 10%
