Following a comfortable 3-0 win over Haringey Borough on Tuesday night, the Blues will look to continue their good form as Lewes visit New Lodge this Saturday. Goals courtesy of Chris Dickson, Bradley Stevenson and Alfie Cerulli secured a great win against Haringey at The CVS Van Hire Stadium. Wehave also found out that we will be facing Biggleswade Town in The Emirates FA Cup Third Qualifying Round after a 4-0 win over Enfield FC in which Alfie Cerulli netted a hat-trick last weekend.

Our opponents on Saturday afternoon, Lewes, have had a mixed start to the season so far. They have had three draws against Wingate & Finchley, Corinthian-Casuals and Hastings United, a defeat to Horsham and two wins against Carshalton Athletic and Bishop’s Stortford. The Rooks are managed by Tony Russell who has been at Lewes since the summer of 2021 and he has additionally coached at Erith Town, VCD Athletic and Cray Wanderers.

Last campaign, Lewes finished in seventh place, missing out on the play-offs by 6 points and they will be hoping to turn their fortunes around this season. They play their home matches at The Dripping Pan which has a capacity of around 3,000. It had the highest attendance of the Isthmian Premier Division last season as 2,347 people watched the Rooks against Worthing. Dan Brown’s side will visit The Dripping Pan on the 25th February. Joe Taylor scored 33 goals for Lewes last season and he was the third top goal-scorer in the division behind Oliver Pearce of Worthing and Muhammadu Faal of Enfield Town.

Lewes also have a successful women’s team who are occupants of the FA Women’s Championship, one league above Billericay Town Women who play in the FA Women’s National League (FAWNL) Southern Premier Division – the third tier of women’s football. The two met in the 3rd Round proper of the Women’s FA Cup in 2020 with the match being decided on penalties with the score being 1-1 AET. Lewes progressed to face Arsenal in the next round.

But which side will take the three points on Saturday afternoon?
