3 Reasons Why We Love Filming Non League & Grassroots Sports

We absolutely love what we do here at WDSportz! Filming, editing and commentating on non-league, Sunday league and grassroots sports is simply amazing. Though there are loads more, we’ve identified 3 reasons why we love filming non league & grassroots sports in this blog. So, we hope you enjoy it and please feel free to let us know why you love non league too!

1. Capturing Special Moments

Non league doesn’t attract the same amount of crowds and views that professional games do but there are still some incredibly powerful and skilful moments that occur on a weekly basis. We feel privileged to get those moments on camera and showcase to the world how good non league is. Whether it’s a wonder-strike from 30 yards, a no-nonsense tackle, or an intricate pass, non league has it all. Once we’ve filmed these special moments, we edit a highlights reel or whole game together to then post on social media or send to the client. We’ve built a social media following of over 15,000 people who we post clips to and the number of eyes on non-league is steadily increasing which we love to see.

2. Bringing Communities Together

As we mentioned before, the interest in non league and grassroots sports, particularly football, is slowly rising and with that, comes community. You may be part of a team, part of the coaching staff, a family member to the players or a local fan or business. Clubs and teams bring communities together and we get great pleasure out of seeing many people turn up to watch the games we are filming at. We can only hope that more of the community gets involved in non league sports and therefore we see an even bigger interest in it all. In the past, we’ve written a blog about ‘how you can support your local clubs’ so have a read of that if you’re unsure.

3. The Opportunity of Non League

The third of the 3 reasons why we love filming non-league & grassroots sports is the endless opportunity that it can bring. There is opportunity for the players who could get scouted into the professional realms and leagues. There’s opportunity for businesses to advertise, especially with the rise of interest occurring. There’s opportunity within the community to better your health or doing something good to give back. There’s so much more too and we sometimes manage to grab these moments on camera aside from the sport, which is beautiful.

So, there are 3 reasons why we love filming non-league & grassroots sports. Would you have anything to add? If so, please feel free to drop us a message on social media or leave a comment under this article. We look forward to hearing from you here at WDSportz and hopefully see you at a games or match soon!
