This season is different from every season in history, but it may be one of the most exciting starts to the championship ever!
At the top of the table, Reading are still unbeaten. This Reading side has been excellent so far, with Meite scoring 4 goals from the wing. Maybe a long-awaited return to the Premier League is on the cards for the Royals.
Also doing well at current are Swansea, alongside Watford. Both teams have won 4, drawn 3 and lost 1, which looks like a good contest for the second automatic spot, if the table continues like it has.
Down at the bottom of the table, Sheffield Wednesday started with -12 points, so they already looked like relegation candidates, however this season they have clawed back 8 points already, from only 7 games. This means they could hope too narrowly escape relegation this season!
Fellow strugglers Wycombe Wanderers look nailed on too finish bottom so far, as they have really felt the jump up from League 1, after winning the playoffs last seasons. Although last night’s draw at Watford is a positive result, they are surely favourites to return to the 3rd division of English football.
In mid-table, Brentford can attack, but they really can’t defend by the looks of things. Ivan Toney looks like a great signing, something we seem to expect from Brentford now, after seemingly losing their best players every season, like Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma this season.
Another team that can attack but can’t defend is Blackburn Rovers, who are the top scoring team this season, with top scorer Adam Armstrong leading the line with 9 goals in 8 games, but also have one of the worst goals against in the league. we will have to see how they do for the remainder of the season.
The Championship seems to also be getting more and more fixtures on TV and these fixtures are not Pay-per-view, so why not watch some if you get the chance?
